Paying a seller
Paying a deposit or the full price through Purry: the seller's request, the pay page, the seller's policy, and what Purry does and does not do.
Paying through Purry is optional for sellers. A seller who has connected their Stripe account can ask you to pay online; you will see Pay in your conversation when they do. Other sellers arrange payment with you directly. Payments are processed through the seller's own Stripe account. Purry does not hold, receive or guarantee any payment, and charges no fee on it.
Never pay anything before you've seen the cat, on a live video call or in person.
The request
A payment through Purry always starts with the seller. When a seller sends you a payment request, you get an email with Log in to pay, an alert, and a note in your conversation. A breeder may ask for a deposit to hold the cat, or the full price. An individual seller asks only for the full price, and you pay when you meet the cat. After a deposit is paid through Purry, the seller can ask you for the balance from the same conversation.
If you do not want to go ahead, Decline beside Pay turns the request down: the seller is told, and the cat stays available to others.
A payment through Purry only ever starts with a request in your conversation. If anyone sends you a Purry payment link any other way, it is not us: report it.
The pay page
The pay page shows the cat, the seller and their badge, the amount, whether it is a deposit or the full price, and the seller's deposit and refund policy exactly as it was when they asked, with the cat's go-home date. Check I agree to the seller's policy and the go-home date, then Pay, and Stripe's checkout takes a card or Link, Stripe's saved-payment wallet. The seller's policy does not limit your rights under applicable law or your card issuer's dispute process.
You have seven days to pay. After that the request expires, and the seller can send it again.
After you pay
Back from Stripe, the page confirms your payment with Stripe. The cat is reserved for you once Stripe confirms it, and you and the seller are both told. If Stripe takes longer, the page says your payment is processing and we email you when it is confirmed.
Refunds and disputes
Deposits, refunds and disputes are between you and the seller, under the seller's policy and applicable law. A seller refunds you from their own Stripe account, and your record shows Refund pending, then Refunded or Partially refunded. Your card issuer's dispute process is yours whatever the policy says.
Your records
When you pay through Purry, the seller's policy and the listing as you saw them are saved with your payment. Payments made outside Purry have no saved record.
My payments on your dashboard lists every payment you made through Purry, with View the policy agreed to. Each payment through Purry has its own page with Download payment record (PDF). If a seller records a payment you made them outside Purry, you are asked to confirm it: Yes or Not right.
