Terms of Service

Updated October 31, 2026

These terms govern your use of Purry, at purry.app and its subdomains, operated by Purry LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company ("Purry", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them.

1. What Purry is

Purry is a listing and messaging platform that connects people looking for a cat with breeders and individuals who have cats available. Purry does not sell cats, does not hold payment for cats, and is not a party to any sale, adoption or agreement between a buyer and a seller. Every transaction is between the two of you; a payment made through Purry is processed through the seller's own Stripe account, and Purry charges no fee on it.

2. Accounts

You must be 18 or older to use Purry. You are responsible for your account, your login, and everything done with it. Keep your contact details accurate. One person, one account, unless we approve otherwise.

3. Sellers

Sellers agree to the Seller Agreement, which is part of these terms. In short: every seller signs up, verifies a mobile number and passes an identity check before anything they post is public, and a Breeder may also have their cattery registration checked by a person at Purry, which shows as Registry Checked; listings must be accurate; prices must be exact; only cats you own or are authorized to rehome may be listed; and you must own, or have the rights to, everything you upload. Individual sellers pay a fee for each listing, may have as many active listings as they like, and may not price a cat above $1,000.

4. Buyers

Before you can message a seller or ask to reserve a cat, you verify a phone number and complete a short questionnaire, which is shown to the sellers you contact and to no one else. A seller may also have their own questions and policies: you answer the questions and acknowledge the policies before you ask to reserve or join their waitlist, and Purry records which version you acknowledged. "Ask to reserve" opens a conversation with the seller; it is not a purchase, it does not hold the cat, and it creates no obligation on either side. Only the seller can mark a listing reserved or sold. Whether a sale happens, and on what terms, is between you and the seller.

Payments for a cat go to the seller, never to Purry. Do not pay anything before a live video call in which you have seen the cat or, for an expected litter, the parents and the cattery, and before you have a written agreement stating the amount and when it is refundable. Do not send money to an Individual seller before meeting the cat in person. Never pay by gift card, cryptocurrency or wire transfer. A deposit the seller records is their own record; Purry does not hold or guarantee any payment for a cat.

A seller may ask you to sign their sale agreement on Purry. Purry is not a party to any sale agreement signed on Purry; it stores the signed copy for both parties as a record.

Payments through Purry

A seller may ask you, through Purry, to pay a deposit or the full price for a cat. Payments are processed through the seller's own Stripe account. Purry does not hold, receive or guarantee any payment, and charges no fee on it. Deposits, refunds and disputes are between you and the seller under the seller's policy and applicable law. The seller's policy does not limit your rights under applicable law or your card issuer's dispute process.

Notes from sellers

Once a sale on Purry is confirmed, the seller you bought from may leave a private note about you: whether they would sell to you again, and up to 500 characters. Only other sellers you contact on Purry can read it, in the conversation you start with them. You cannot see it, and neither can the public. Those sellers also see your purchase and return history on Purry: each cat that went home with you through Purry, its seller and the month, and the month any return was confirmed. A seller who reads a note may message the seller who wrote it about you, in a conversation you do not see. A note must be honest and about the sale. You can ask Purry to review the notes about you from your Profile, and Purry may remove a note that is untrue, unfair or breaks these terms.

5. Payments to Purry

The only payments Purry takes are for its own services: breeder subscriptions, listing fees, and optional features such as featured placement. These are processed by Stripe. See the Refund Policy for what is and is not refundable.

Some pages on Purry may contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, Purry may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which breeders or cats you see or how they are ranked.

6. Reviews

Reviews may only be written by buyers who took a cat home from the seller, as recorded on Purry: the seller marked the listing Found a home for them, or the buyer reported taking the cat home and the seller confirmed it or did not dispute it within 7 days. Sellers do not publicly review buyers (a seller's private note is described in section 4); either side may use Report instead. Reviews must be honest and about your own experience. Sellers may reply once and may dispute a review; Purry decides disputes and may remove reviews that break these terms. Purry does not edit reviews for sellers. Reviews belong to the seller's verified identity. Closing an account does not remove them, and a new account for the same seller inherits them.

7. Prohibited

You may not: list wild or exotic species, or any animal that is illegal to own or sell where the buyer lives; post false, misleading or recycled listings; misrepresent registration, health testing or pedigree; request or send payment for a cat through Purry other than through a payment request Purry provides; harass anyone; scrape the site; create accounts to evade a ban; or use Purry for anything unlawful.

8. Content

You keep ownership of the photos and text you post. You grant Purry a license to display, resize and distribute them on the platform and in search results, previews and promotion of the platform, for as long as they are posted plus a reasonable period. You may post only what you own or have the rights to, and you confirm you do. To report content that infringes your copyright, follow the Copyright page (purry.app/copyright), which names Purry's designated agent and explains notices, counter-notices and our repeat-infringer policy. Anyone may also use "Report this photo".

9. Enforcement

We may remove content, suspend or close accounts, and refuse service at our discretion, including for conduct that harms buyers, sellers or animals. Reports of a listing or user go through the Report link.

10. Disclaimers

Purry checks sellers' identity, the cattery registrations Breeders choose to add, and phone numbers as described on the site, but does not inspect catteries, examine cats, or guarantee any seller, buyer, cat, health claim or pedigree. Purry is not a party to any sale. Purry is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, Purry is not liable for any loss arising from a transaction between users, from reliance on a listing or review, or from use of the site, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid Purry in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Purry against claims arising from your listings, your transactions with other users, and your breach of these terms.

12. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; we will post the new version with a new effective date, and material changes will be announced by email. You may close your account at any time. Sections 8 through 14 survive closure.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of New Mexico. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Santa Fe County, New Mexico, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court.
