Seller Agreement

Updated October 29, 2026

This agreement applies to anyone who lists a cat on Purry, whether as a Breeder or as an Individual seller. It is part of the Terms of Service. Purry is a listing and messaging platform: it is not a party to any sale, adoption or agreement between you and a buyer.

1. Verification

1a. Every seller

Every seller verifies their identity with a photo ID and a selfie through Stripe Identity, our identity verification provider, before their listings, profile or hosted site become public. You may attempt the identity check up to three times. Purry receives the result of the check but does not receive or store your document or selfie images. Purry keeps the verification status, the verified name, the date of birth and a one-way hash of the document number, and the other details listed in the Privacy Policy. Every verified seller is shown to buyers as Verified on Purry. Purry may compare your verified identity and your phone number with those of other sellers, to recognise the same seller on another account. Purry may ask for more information at any time and may withdraw verification if it was obtained with false information.

1b. Breeders

You sign up as a Breeder by subscribing, with no wait for a review by Purry. Before anything of yours is public, you add a payment card to a Breeder subscription (see section 2; nothing is charged during a free period), complete the identity check in 1a and verify a mobile number. The verified name must match the name on your Purry account; if it does not, or the check cannot be completed, a person at Purry reviews it.

Registry (optional). You may add one or more cattery registrations with a registry Purry accepts for your country (TICA, CFA, ACFA or CCA-AFC in the United States and Canada; the list for other countries is shown where you add a registry), with the name as it appears on the registry record. You may upload a copy of your registration certificate or breeder slip with it; only Purry's reviewers can see it, and it is deleted when you delete the registration or 90 days after Purry has checked it. A person at Purry checks each registration against the registry's records. A registry checked by a person gives you the Registry Checked chip; otherwise you have only the Verified on Purry chip. Once a registration is checked, you change or remove it by asking Purry. Purry may hold the check of a registration whose number or cattery name matches another seller's until it has looked into it, and may tell that seller.

1c. Individual sellers

Individual sellers verify a mobile number and complete the identity check in 1a, once per account. An Individual seller writes a listing and publishes it by paying the listing fee, $5 for each listing running 60 days (see section 2), or with a free first listing while Purry offers one; the listing becomes public when the identity check passes. The verified name must match the name on their Purry account and the name on the card that paid their listing fee; if it does not, a person at Purry reviews it. Individual sellers take no deposit: the buyer pays the full price only when they meet the cat in person, either directly or through Purry (section 5).

2. Tiers and fees

Breeder: a subscription, billed monthly or annually, with unlimited listings and a hosted cattery site. A card is required to start it, including when it starts with a free period: Founding Breeders, who are invited by Purry, are not charged until their free year ends, and everyone else is not charged until their first month ends. The list price, any free period, and any founding rate you qualify for are shown on the Sell page and on your billing page, and we email you 30 and 7 days before a free year ends (7 days before a free month ends) with the amount that will be charged. Cancel any time. If you cancel during a free period, you may end access now, or keep it to the end of the free period with nothing charged; either way any founding rate ends. Canceling a paid period lets access continue to its end. A yearly plan can instead be canceled with a refund, yourself, from your Billing page: the months used, counting a started month as a full month, are charged at the monthly list price in effect, the rest of what you paid for the year is refunded, the subscription ends at once, and any founding rate ends.

Founding Breeders receive the first 12 months free, then $149.88 a year for as long as the subscription stays active without interruption. The founding rate is tied to that one subscription. If you cancel at any point, including during the free year, the founding rate ends and cannot be restored; any later subscription is at the regular price.

Individual: a per-listing fee, currently $5 for each listing, with as many active listings as you like, each running 60 days, renewable. Individual listings are limited to a maximum price of $1,000; selling above that requires a Breeder account.

Fees are shown on the Sell page and may change with notice; a rate that Purry has stated is locked for you does not change. Fees do not include any part of the price of a cat; Purry never takes a commission.

3. Your listings

Every listing must be for a cat you own or are authorized to rehome, be accurate and current, and show an exact price. You must own, or have the rights to, everything you upload, including every photo, video and description, and you grant Purry the license described in the Terms to show it. Purry handles copyright complaints as set out on its Copyright page and may remove what is reported. Registration, health testing, vaccination and pedigree claims must be true and documented. Each listing is one cat; create a new listing for each cat.

What a listing lets you change depends on what has happened to the cat. While nobody holds it, you may edit everything; a change to the cat's name, breed, sex or date of birth is shown in every conversation about it. Once the cat is reserved for a buyer or anyone holds a place on its waitlist, who the cat is, its parents and the agreed terms (price, breeding rights, spay or neuter, health guarantee, registration and delivery) are locked until every reservation and place has ended; other changes are shown to those buyers. Once the cat has found a home, everything is locked except the description. Photos can be added and reordered, but photos from before the reservation or sale cannot be removed or replaced.

Expected litters may be listed by Breeders only, with a due date and the parents. Buyers may ask to reserve from an expected litter and you may keep an ordered waitlist for it. When the kittens are born, list them individually.

4. Reservations and status

Buyers cannot place a hold on a listing. A buyer's "Ask to reserve" opens a conversation; only you change a listing's status. If you set questions or policies for buyers, each buyer answers your questions and acknowledges your policies before asking to reserve or joining a waitlist, and Purry records which version of your policies they acknowledged and when. You may mark a listing Reserved for a named buyer, with an optional note that a deposit was received and an optional date, return it to Available, or mark it Found a home once the cat has gone to its buyer. Keep the status accurate: mark cats reserved or sold when they are, and do not leave a sold cat showing as available.

A deposit note on Purry is your own record. Purry does not process, hold or guarantee any deposit or payment for a cat. The only way a buyer pays through Purry is a payment request processed through your own Stripe account; any other payment is between you and the buyer, under section 5.

5. Deposits and conduct with buyers

Respond to messages promptly. You may take a deposit directly from a buyer, but only after a live video call in which the buyer has seen the cat or, for an expected litter, the parents and the cattery, and only under a written agreement that states the amount and when it is refundable. You may use Purry's sale agreement template or your own, and you are responsible for its contents. Individual sellers may not take any payment before the buyer has met the cat in person. Never require payment by gift card, cryptocurrency or wire transfer, and never add fees after a deposit that were not in the written agreement.

You may decline any buyer. Use "Not a fit" or Block rather than leaving conversations unanswered, and use Report for buyers who behave dishonestly.

6. Reviews

Only buyers who took a cat home from you may review you: either because you marked the listing Found a home for them, or because they reported taking the cat home and you confirmed it or did not dispute it within 7 days. You may reply once to each review and may dispute a review you believe breaks the rules. You may not offer anything in exchange for a review, review yourself, ask buyers to remove reviews, or withhold marking a sale to prevent a review. Reviews belong to the seller's verified identity. Closing an account does not remove them, and a new account for the same seller inherits them. Creating buyer accounts, or arranging reviews from people who did not take a cat home, ends your account without refund.

7. Buyer information

Buyers share a questionnaire and, for Breeders, answers to your own cattery questions when they contact you. You may use that information only to decide whether to sell to that buyer and to care for the placement. You may not share it, publish it, or use it for any other purpose.

8. Hosted site

Your hosted site at [name].purry.app is provided as part of the Breeder tier, at no extra charge. You may choose a theme, colors, logo and banner. Purry elements on the site (verification badge, reviews, safety notice, reserve and message buttons) are controlled by Purry and cannot be removed. Purry may suspend a hosted site with the account.

You may connect a domain you own to your hosted site at no extra charge. You confirm that you own or control the domain and that its name does not infringe anyone else's rights. You are responsible for your domain registration and DNS; Purry provides the records to add, and does not buy, renew or transfer domains. While your domain is connected it serves your hosted site, and your [name].purry.app address forwards to it. Purry elements remain on the site at your domain as at [name].purry.app. If you remove the domain, close your account, or your subscription ends and is not restarted within 30 days, Purry disconnects the domain and stops serving your site on it. You can then point it elsewhere. Purry may refuse or disconnect a domain that is misleading, imitates another person or business, or is used to break these terms.

9. Suspension and lapse

If a subscription payment fails, you have a 7-day grace period; after that, listings return to draft and the hosted site shows as temporarily unavailable until payment resumes. Nothing is deleted. Purry may suspend or remove sellers for false information, mistreatment of animals, scam behavior, taking deposits in breach of section 5, or repeated buyer complaints, without refund.

10. Your responsibility

You are responsible for complying with the animal welfare, breeding, sales tax and consumer laws that apply to you and to the buyer's location, including any restrictions on shipping animals. Purry provides a listing platform, not legal or veterinary advice. If your business location is a country with registration rules for selling animals, you must provide the registration details Purry asks for and keep them current.

Some breeds, including hybrid breeds such as Bengal and Savannah, are restricted or banned in some states, provinces and countries, sometimes by generation. You are responsible for knowing and following the laws where you and the buyer live before listing or selling. In particular, you are responsible for complying with state and local law on hybrid cats (Savannah, Bengal, Chausie) where you sell; Purry does not check it.
