Your cattery site
What yourname.purry.app gives you, what you set on the Site tab, what stays Purry's on every site, and your own domain.

Your Breeder plan includes a site at yourname.purry.app, live once you are verified. It shows your cats, your litters, your parent cats, your reviews and your story. Purry's marketplace navigation is not on it: the header is your cattery's, with a link to each section and Contact, and only Purry's mark and the Verified badge at its right, linking to your Purry profile. It reads as yours because it is.
You set it up on your dashboard's Site tab. One Save at the end of the tab saves every card on it.
Before it is public
Before you are verified, your site is not public: anyone else who opens the address sees a page that is not found. You can open it any time, signed in, with Preview on your Site tab: it opens in the same tab under a bar that says it is not public yet, with Back to dashboard on the left and, on the right, what is left before it goes live (add your card, or Finish verification). Search engines are told to leave it out. Your Purry profile has the same preview.
Preview also shows changes you have not saved yet, whether your site is live or not: a new banner, logo, colors, words, Policies and FAQ, What's included and gallery photos. Nobody else sees them. The bar says Previewing unsaved changes. Back to editing returns you to the Site tab with your changes still there. Save and publish saves them to your live site; Save on the Site tab does the same, and Discard drops them. Unsaved changes are kept for preview for 7 days. Documents, Getting home and Old links are not in the preview; the tab asks about those before it opens.
What you set
Logo. Two of them, side by side on the tab:
- Logo mark, the square one, shown in your site's header, on your Purry profile and on your listing cards. Upload one, or under No logo? Make a simple mark. make it here: one to three initials, in one of four fonts, on a circle, a rounded square or a cat's head, in a background and a text color you choose. If the two are hard to read together, the preview says so and suggests a readable shade. Until you pick its colors, the mark uses your site's colors and changes with them.
- Full logo, any shape (a PNG with a transparent background works), shown at the top of your site, in a Logo size of Small, Medium or Large. Without one, the logo mark is used.
Hero, the top of your site:
- Banner: optional. Add a wide photo (at least 1600 by 900) and drag the dot to the part that should always stay visible; your Purry profile's banner crops around the same point. The photo is shown as it is, with only a soft gradient in your site's background color behind your words. Without a banner, the top of your site is your site's own background color, with your logo, name, badges and button as usual.
- Tagline: one line under your name, up to 80 characters.
- Show logo in hero, and Logo replaces the cattery name in the hero (your name stays in the header and the page title).
- Hero text alignment: Center, or Left, with your name and button in the lower left. Phones always center.
- Button at the top: the one button under your name, to a section of your site, to Contact, or to a custom https link. It can never be an email address, a phone number or a payment link.
Hero preview on the tab shows how the top of your site will look as you change any of these, before you save.
Colors. One of eight themes for your whole site: Purry Light (the default), Purry Dark, Moss, Turquoise, Slate, Plum, Oxblood or Noir. Or Your own colors: a Background, an Accent and a Text color, each with a picker and a hex field. Picking a theme fills in its three; changing any one makes your site Custom. Cards, lines, muted text and link shades are worked out from the three. If a pair would be hard to read, a note under the pickers says so and offers the nearest readable shade with Use it; it never stops you saving. A small preview shows your colors on a page before you save. Every theme is checked for contrast, so the eight presets always read.
Your accent colors your own buttons, links and underlines, and Purry's Reserve and Message band, its Message button and dialog, the safety note and the review cards take your site's colors too.
About your cattery: your story, with a small toolbar for bold, italic, headings, lists and links, up to 2,000 characters. Shown on your site and your Purry profile.
Website and social links, and up to three other links, shown under Find us online on your site's About card. They are web pages only: an email address or a phone number is refused, because buyers reach you through Purry. If your About or Policies and FAQ text holds one, the field warns you.
Phone for your site: optional, and separate from the verified number on your Profile. Show my phone number on my site shows this one on your site only, never on purry.app.
Show rating in header and info card: on by default. Your Reviews section shows either way.
What stays Purry's
The Verified badge in your header and hero, your registry chip, and the words and layout of Reserve and Message, the safety note, the reviews and the footer.
These are the parts a buyer recognizes from every other seller's site. The badge and the registry chip keep Purry's own colors on every theme, so they always mean the same thing. The reviews are the strongest part of the page because you cannot edit them. There is no page builder on purpose: a buyer arriving from a search needs every cattery site to be easy to read and easy to trust.
Site visibility
In Settings, under your web address, Site visibility is Public (the default) or Unlisted. Unlisted, your cattery site, Purry profile and listings open only for people who have the link: they are left out of Find a Cat, the breeders directory, breed pages, the home page and search engines. Your dashboard says Unlisted at the top while it is on.
Your web address is your handle, made from your cattery's name. You can change it in Settings once every 30 days, and the old address keeps forwarding to the new one.
What your site shows
Your site's sections run in this order, each only when it has something in it, and the links in its header are in the same order: About, Available Cats, Expected litters, Our cats, Cats who found homes (when you show them), Policies and FAQ, What's included, Gallery and Reviews, then Purry's Reserve and Message band and the footer.
Message and Contact open a Purry conversation, asking the buyer which cat it is about, or none in particular. There is no email or phone form on a site.
Signed-in buyers can save your cattery with the heart beside Share, and you see how many have on your Overview, never who. When you publish a new cat, each of them sees it in their Alerts.
Available Cats, filtered
Your cats are one grid under Available Cats: every available cat, and every reserved one with its badge, each cat once. Above it, buyers can filter by sex, by age (Kitten, under 12 months, or Adult) and, if you list more than one breed, by breed. They can sort by Featured first (the default, in the order you set on Cats for sale), newest, name, age or price. They can pick several in a row, and the page address keeps what they picked, so a filtered view can be shared. A featured cat's sticker is not shown on your site.
Litters are separate and automatic: kittens born together are grouped for you, and your site links to each litter's page. A litter not born yet shows under Expected litters.
Our cats on your site
Each of your cats under Our cats with Show on my site, under Our cats checked shows in that section, with its own page at yourname.purry.app/cats/its-name: its photos, its details, its parents, its litters and the kittens from them listed now. A cat you have listed for sale is left out of Our cats while the listing is up, since she is under Available Cats; her own page stays. Listings and waitlists has the rest.
Cats who found homes
Turn on Show Cats who found homes under Site and a Cats who found homes section appears after Our cats, with its own link in your site's header, showing the cats you marked Found a home: photo, name, breed and the heart with its count. Each says "Found a home", or "Home with" the buyer's public name, linking to their Purry profile, when that buyer turned on Show me as this cat's owner. Off by default, and a cat that comes back to you leaves it.
Policies and FAQ
Up to 12 questions buyers ask, with your answers, in the order you choose. A new list starts with six suggested questions (deposits, your health guarantee, visits, getting home, spay or neuter, what comes with a kitten) to answer or delete. Each suggestion has an example answer with blanks to fill in; a question shows on your site only once its answer has no blanks left. Answers take the same small toolbar as About, up to 1,500 characters each. On your site every answer starts open, with Collapse all and Expand all over them.
Before a buyer asks to reserve or joins a waitlist, they read your Policies and FAQ and agree to them, once for your cattery. If you change them later, the buyer card shows which version they agreed to.
Documents and gallery
Documents: up to five PDFs for your cattery as a whole (a sample contract, your health guarantee, a license), 10 MB each, with a title. They show beside Policies and FAQ on your site and on your Purry profile. A listing and each of your cats can have documents of their own too.
Gallery: up to 30 photos of your cattery and cats, in the order you choose, each with an optional caption of up to 120 characters. Buyers open any photo full size.
Watermark
A watermark makes your photos harder to reuse in fake listings.
Turn on Watermark my photos on the Site tab and your logo mark or full logo, whichever you have uploaded (your initials mark if neither), is drawn on your listing, Our cats and gallery photos wherever they show, on Purry and on your site. Choose the corner (bottom right to start), the size (small, medium or large) and the opacity (60% to start); the preview shows it on one of your photos. Your banner, logo and Purry's share images are never watermarked.
The photos you uploaded are not changed: the watermark is added as each photo is shown, so you can change it or turn it off at any time without uploading anything again. Photos a buyer has already opened show the change within the hour.
What's included and Getting home
Two cards on the Site tab set what comes with every cat and how your cats get home.
- What's included with every cat: check what goes home with each kitten (vaccinations up to date, deworming, microchip, spay or neuter, health certificate, registration papers, starter food, a blanket with the mother's scent, a toy, a carrier, a health guarantee) and add anything else under Also included, up to 300 characters. Registration papers need a registry a person at Purry has checked. Your site shows the list as What's included, after Policies and FAQ, once anything is checked.
- Getting home: Pickup; I meet the buyer partway, up to a distance you set, with an optional fee; I deliver by car, for a fee you set (zero means included), with an optional distance; I arrange a flight nanny, for a fee you set, with or without the airfare; or The buyer arranges transport. Distances are in the units your region settings use. Under it, Transporter we work with (optional, a name and its https website): where the buyer arranges transport or you offer a flight nanny, your listings name them and buyers ask you for a quote, and the conversation names them once a cat is reserved. Without one, Show a transport estimate on my listings (on to start) shows buyers an estimate from your city to theirs. Transport costs are agreed with the buyer and paid to you directly.
A new listing starts with both, and the form says "From your cattery defaults. Change anything for this cat." What you change there is for that cat only, and changing a default later changes no listing. On a cat's page, What's included shows the listing's own rows first, then anything from your list the listing does not answer itself, such as a health guarantee when the listing gives no months.
Listings are the same listings
There is one listing per cat and it appears on both your site and the marketplace. Nothing is duplicated, nothing is kept in step by hand, and a cat marked Found a home is marked in both places at once.
If your subscription ends
Your site shows a short page saying it is taking a break, and nothing else, until you restart; nothing is deleted. If you stop paying has the whole list.
Custom domains
Your cattery site on a domain you own, like example.com, at no extra charge. You keep the domain where you bought it; Purry never buys, renews or transfers domains.
1. Connect it. In your dashboard, open Site and find Your own domain. Type your domain, like example.com, and choose Connect domain. We connect example.com and www.example.com. 2. Add two records. At your registrar (the company where you bought your domain: GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace and so on), open the DNS settings and add both records the card shows: - Type CNAME, Name @, Value customers.purry.app. Your registrar may call this ALIAS or ANAME. If it refuses a CNAME at @ (GoDaddy does), skip this record and set up forwarding from example.com to https://www.example.com instead. - Type CNAME, Name www, Value customers.purry.app
If there is already an A or AAAA record at @ or www, delete it first. New domains usually come with a parking record, and it would keep showing the registrar's page. 3. Wait for Live. The card says Pending DNS until we can see a record, then Issuing certificate while your site's security certificate is made, then Live. Usually minutes, sometimes a few hours. Check now looks straight away, and we check every ten minutes on our own.
Once it is live, your site is at your domain, and yourname.purry.app forwards there, page for page. example.com is your main address as soon as it is live, and www.example.com sends visitors to it; until then www.example.com is the main address, so the bare domain never holds your site up. If you used forwarding instead of the @ record, the card says it is not set up after two weeks, and that is fine. Remove domain disconnects both.
Main address. The main address is the one your site lives at, the one search engines and your emails use; the other sends visitors to it. It is example.com once that is live. If you prefer www.example.com, choose it under Main address on the card. If example.com stops working later, your site goes back to www by itself, and the card says so.
Moving a website that is live now? While the card says Pending DNS or Issuing certificate, open Moving a site that's live now? and add the ownership record and the certificate record first, while your old site is still up. Then change the www record, and your site never goes dark.
How to add the records at your registrar. Each registrar's own guide:
- GoDaddy: adding a CNAME record
- Namecheap: adding a CNAME record, and ALIAS records for the record at @
- Cloudflare: adding a CNAME record, and CNAME flattening for the record at @
- Squarespace (includes former Google Domains): adding a CNAME record
- Porkbun: adding a CNAME record, and ALIAS records for the record at @
- Hover: adding a CNAME record
- Name.com: adding a CNAME record, and ANAME records for the record at @
- IONOS: adding a CNAME record
- Bluehost: adding a CNAME record
- HostGator: adding a CNAME record
- Hostinger: adding a CNAME record, and ALIAS records for the record at @
- Wix: adding a CNAME record
- Network Solutions: adding a CNAME record
- Dynadot: adding a CNAME record, and ANAME records for the record at @
- Gandi: adding a CNAME record, and ALIAS records for the record at @
- OVHcloud: adding a CNAME record
Or ask your registrar's support to add the two records above for you. They do this every day. On the card, choose your registrar under Where did you buy your domain? and it links the same guide.
Your old site's addresses. Once your domain is live, Old links appears on the Site tab: list up to 50 of your old website's pages and where each goes now, so links people saved keep working. Paste a whole link if that's easier; we keep the part after the domain. Any other old address goes to your home page.
A domain already on another Purry site. If your domain is connected to someone else's cattery site, the card asks you to prove it is yours: add the TXT record it shows (the name `_purry`, so `_purry.yourdomain.com`, and a value starting `purry-verify=`) at your registrar, then press Check now. Once the record is there, the domain moves to your site and connects like a new one, and the other site's owner gets an email saying so. You can remove the TXT record afterwards.
Still stuck? Email purr@purry.app and we'll set it up with you. We never need your password.
If you remove the domain, close your account, or your subscription ends and is not restarted within 30 days, we disconnect the domain, and you can point it elsewhere.
