Breeder questions
Commission, canceling, lapsed payments, registries, reviews you disagree with, and the rules breeders ask about twice.
Does Purry take a cut of the sale?
No. You are paid directly by the buyer, and a payment taken through Purry is processed through your own Stripe account, with no fee from Purry. What you pay Purry is your Breeder plan, plus a Featured cat if you choose one, and that is all of it. What it costs has the prices.
What happens if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted, ever. If a payment fails you get seven days, and we email you during them; everything keeps working until they run out. After that, or as soon as a canceled subscription ends, your listings go back to draft and your cattery site shows a short page saying it is taking a break. Existing conversations stay open, so a buyer partway through arranging a cat with you is not stranded. If you stop paying has the whole list.
Can I cancel whenever I want?
Yes, from your Billing page. During your free month you can cancel now, which ends your access right away, or at the end of the free month; either way nothing is charged. A paid monthly plan runs to the end of the month you paid for. A yearly plan can be refunded for the months you have not used, from the same page. Coming back is at the list price with no free month. Canceling has the details.
Why verify my ID?
It confirms you are who you say you are, which makes fake accounts much harder. Stripe checks your ID; we never see or store the document. Getting verified has the steps.
I breed, but I am not registered with a registry yet
You can be on the Breeder plan now. The registry is optional: you verify your ID like every seller, and you get the Verified on Purry badge, unlimited listings and your cattery site straight away.
When you register with a registry accepted in your country (TICA, CFA, ACFA or CCA-AFC in the US and Canada; the full list covers the rest), add it on your Profile. A person checks it, and the Registry Checked chip appears when it passes. Until then your listings carry Verified on Purry without the chip, which is the honest description and the thing a careful buyer wants to know.
Can I edit a listing after I publish it?
Everything, until somebody holds the cat. A change to the name, breed, sex or date of birth is posted in every conversation about the listing. Once the cat is reserved or has a waitlist, what the buyer agreed to locks; see Listings and waitlists.
A buyer left a review I think is unfair
Reply to it, from Your reviews on your dashboard, under Reviews about me. One public reply per review, which you can edit, and a measured reply to an angry review persuades far more readers than the review did.
If it breaks the rules (abuse, something that never happened, a competitor), dispute it and a person will look. The review stays visible and unmarked while we do. That is deliberate: if a dispute hid a review, every seller would dispute every bad one.
Who can review me?
Only buyers who took a cat home from you. Either you marked the cat Found a home for them, or they told you the cat is home with them and you confirmed it or did not dispute it within seven days. A buyer can say so once you have reserved the cat for them, or once the listing has left Available for any reason after they wrote to you, even if you recorded the cat going home with somebody else. You are emailed, and you have seven days to dispute it. Nobody can review you without a sale, a reservation that fell through is not enough, and nobody reviews an expected litter.
When a buyer says a cat went home with them you get an email, and it shows on your dashboard and in your conversation with them. Confirm marks the cat Found a home for them. Dispute if it did not go home with them; you have seven days. You may not hold back marking a cat Found a home to stop somebody reviewing you.
You may not offer anything in exchange for a review, review yourself, or ask a buyer to take one down.
Do I have to ship?
No, and Purry arranges nothing. You set your own ways home (pickup, meeting partway, delivering by car, a flight nanny or the buyer arranging transport) on the Site tab and on each listing, and buyers see them. Shipping an animal is regulated differently in different places and complying with the rules where you and the buyer are is your responsibility, as is the rest of the animal welfare, breeding and sales tax law that applies to you. The seller agreement says so at more length.
What do I know about a buyer before they message me?
Every buyer has verified a phone number and filled in the questionnaire before their first message: their household and whether someone is home during the day; their home, whether they own or rent and, if they rent, whether the lease allows pets; their outdoor space and other pets; which breeds they have had, marked for you when the list includes your cat's breed; their vet, who looks after a cat when they travel and what would happen if they could not keep it; and what the cat is for and when. It sits at the top of the conversation, with a photo of their home if they added one.
Before they ask to reserve or join a waitlist, they have also answered your own questions and agreed to your Policies and FAQ, if you have any; the buyer card and Selling > Reservations say "Agreed to policies on" the date, with the version they read if you have changed your policies since.
Can I ask my own questions?
Yes, under Selling > Questions: up to ten. The tab first shows the standard questionnaire every buyer has already answered, so you can see what arrives before adding your own. A new cattery starts with four suggested questions to edit or delete, and the tab offers more to add one at a time, among them whether the buyer will stay in touch, tell you about the cat's health, and return the cat to you rather than rehome it.
Every buyer answers yours once for your cattery, with your Policies and FAQ to read and agree to, before they ask to reserve or join a waitlist; turn on Buyers answer my questions before they can message me to ask before their first message instead. They answer in their own words, with a yes or no, or by picking one of 2 to 6 options you write (a single choice), and the answers sit beside their questionnaire in every conversation. A yes or no question can say which answer is not a fit, a single choice can mark any of its options not a fit, and that answer is marked on the buyer's card for you alone. A question you add later reaches buyers you are already talking to. The limit is there because every question is something a buyer does before they can reserve.
The tab also has two asks of its own. Ask buyers to acknowledge my starting price: buyers check that your cats start at the amount you enter, and asking again after you change it waits for their next ask to reserve. Ask how they would like the cat to get home: buyers pick one of the ways home the cat's listing offers, for each cat, unless it offers only one. And Extras, up to eight things a buyer can add, each with its price and when it applies, which buyers read under your policies and check that they have. Payment for extras is between you and the buyer.
A buyer is not a fit
Open the conversation and press Not a fit. The buyer is told the conversation is closed and can still read it; nobody can add to it. You can Reopen it. Block goes further: that buyer cannot start a conversation with you about any cat, and the current one closes. Neither is shown anywhere else, and neither affects the buyer with other sellers.
I have a question that is not here
Use Email Purry on your dashboard's Help page. A person reads it.
