Why List Your Cats on Purry: A Permanent Home for Your Cattery

What breeders and individual sellers get on Purry, how it compares with a registry listing, GoKitty, Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet Rehome and your own website, and why your cats become a history rather than a listing that disappears.

By Purry Editorial · 8 min read · Published Sep 25, 2026

If you breed cats, you already pay to be found. A registry listing, a classifieds membership, a website someone built for you, maybe all three. Each does part of the job, and each has the same flaw: when a kitten sells, the listing disappears, and everything a buyer learned about your cattery goes with it.

Purry starts from a different idea. The listing ends. The cat doesn't.

Your cats aren't listings. They're profiles.

On Purry, every cat you add gets a permanent profile: photos, registry details, parents, offspring, health information and life history. A kitten you list today keeps its page after it goes home. When it becomes a parent years later in another cattery, the family tree connects back to you. Buyers can click a kitten's mother, then her mother, then the stud from a cattery three states away, and every link is a real cat with a real page.

Which means your cattery page gets better with time instead of starting from zero every litter. Current kittens, upcoming litters, queens, studs, past kittens, retired cats, foundation cats who passed years ago: all of it stays, with photos and, where buyers have left them, reviews attached to actual cats. A breeder joining today may have a handful of cats on their page. Years from now, the same page can show generations.

That is the thing no registry directory, classifieds site or standalone website gives you, and it's why we built the rest of Purry around it.

What else you get

On the Breeder plan

A cattery site at yourname.purry.app: your logo, banner and accent color on a design that already works on phones, with your about page, breeding cats, past kittens, health testing, policies and contact form. No designer, no developer, no hosting bill.

Listings with prices and ready dates. Buyers filter by breed, location, age, sex, coat and more, and your cats appear on the breed and location pages that Google sends people to. Purry requires one exact price because buyers shouldn't have to message a seller just to learn what a cat costs.

Litter announcements and waitlists. List an expected litter with its due date and manage the waitlist.

Reservations and a real inbox. A buyer asks to reserve and that opens a conversation; it does not move your listing, and no timer starts. You decide when a cat is reserved, who it is reserved for, and when it goes back on. Every message reaches you.

Reviews from real buyers. Only someone who contacted you through Purry and either took a cat home or had one reserved for them can review you. You can reply, and you can dispute a review that breaks the rules.

Verification buyers can see. Every seller verifies their ID before anything they post goes public. Breeders can also have their registry checked for the Registry Checked chip: a person checks each registration against a registry we accept for your country. Buyers see exactly what was verified, each check shown on its own.

If you're an individual seller

A listing for one cat at a time with its price, an ID-verified profile so buyers know there's a real person behind it, the same inbox and reservation flow breeders use, and a spot in the same searches. It's built for individuals rehoming a cat, rescues, and anyone selling without a cattery. Listings are capped at $1,000; above that you are selling cats as a business, which is what the Breeder plan is for. Your listings carry Verified on Purry without a registry chip, which is the honest description and the thing a careful buyer wants to know.

What it costs

One cattery. Unlimited cats. $24.99 a month or $215.88 a year, and the first month is free.

Your cattery site, cat profiles, listings, litter announcements, waitlists, reservations, inbox and buyer reviews are all included.

Both plans start with a 30-day free trial. A card is needed to subscribe; nothing is charged until day 31, we email you 3 days before, and cancelling during the trial charges nothing.

One add-on: feature any cat at the top of its breed page and search results for 30 days, $5 per cat. Pointing your own domain at your cattery site is included at no extra charge.

Individual: $5 per listing for 60 days (first listing free until January 13, 2027), one cat at a time, renewable for another 60 days at $5 each time, priced up to $1,000.

Buyers: free.

Purry doesn't process the purchase price of a cat or hold deposits. Buyers and sellers arrange payment directly, and Purry never takes a percentage of a sale.

A few notes on that table.

The registry listing is worth having. TICA's breeder directory gives buyers an independent place to find participating TICA breeders, and listings include contact information, a website link and a description of the cattery. But it isn't designed to be a marketplace with individual kitten listings, exact prices, waitlists, reservations and buyer reviews. On Purry, a registry you add is checked by a person and shows as the Registry Checked chip, so the two work together.

GoKitty lets sellers list free but locks messages behind a paid membership, so a buyer's inquiry can sit unread. Prices there are often ranges rather than a number.

Petfinder and Adopt-a-Pet are where many buyers start, but Petfinder lists only screened shelters and rescue organizations, and Rehome is for private owners placing their own pet; neither is a place for a breeder to list a litter.

Your own website gives you the most control, but you also have to create the traffic yourself. Your own domain, included with the subscription, lets you point the address you've already printed on cards at your Purry cattery site, so you keep the name without maintaining a separate site.

What buyers see, and why it matters to you

Buyers want what they can check, and on Purry they can check a lot: what was verified about your cattery, who the parents are, the price, when the kitten is ready, and what previous buyers said. Every buyer who messages you has an account, and every review you carry came from somebody who actually dealt with you.

That's the difference between answering "is this still available" thirty times and a buyer who arrives already knowing your cattery, your cats and your terms.

What Purry isn't

Purry does not currently replace your breed registry; keep maintaining whatever TICA, CFA, ACFA, CCA-AFC or other registry records your breeding program requires. It doesn't run shows. It doesn't hold deposits or take any part of the price of a cat; a payment through Purry goes to your own Stripe account. And it isn't free for breeders after the first month, because the sites that are free for breeders make their money from ads and from buyers, and that's not the marketplace we wanted to build.

Getting started

Subscribe to the Breeder plan, add a card and verify your ID; nothing is charged until your free period ends. Then you set up your site, add your cats and their parents, list what's available, and you're live. Add your registry on your Profile whenever you like, and a person checks it for the Registry Checked chip, usually within a day or two.
